In other words

In other words

It‘s the thick air that gets us

under the burn of the sun,

when we wake in sweaty sheets

It’s Summer Nights l

just like in Grease

sitting on rocks at the beach,

watching moments turn to forever.

It’s walking to the bench, laughing

in between smoke.

It’s kissing mid-sentence, or steps,

or breaths.

It’s going further to look for a less patchy spot.

And it’s walking uphill alone to

get home

It’s like knowing there never is

enough time

It’s everyday,

all the time,

like I told you that first May
