Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Pisces.

Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Pisces.

Letting the Light Through.

The light is not ours to possess, nor the truth ours to own. We are asked only to become transparent enough for both to pass through.

Shadow does not extinguish light. It reveals how light travels through darkness.

At the New Moon in Leo on 12 August, the Moon stood between Earth and Sun, obscuring the Sun.

Now, on 28 August, during the Full Moon in Pisces, Earth will stand between Sun and Moon, casting our own shadow upon the Moon.

The seed we planted in the New Moon in Leo was humble radiance, asking: Can I trust my light when I cannot see it, and when no one else can see it for me?

We learned that the Sun continues shining whether seen or obscured. The light is not ours to possess; ours is simply to stop obstructing it and allow it through.

Now Pisces asks the inevitable next question: If the light is not mine, can I surrender myself enough to let it pass through me?

Then, Leo asked us to let the light through. Now, Pisces asks to stop deciding what the light should become.

That is incarnation. The movement from my light to Thy Light (The Light of Love); from my word to the Living Word (Servants of Truth I), which we will be publishing this weekend; from self-expression to service.

Pisces is often described as the sign of dreams, intuition, mysticism, compassion and dissolution. At a deeper level, perhaps Pisces is the sign of surrender.

Not surrender as disappearing, nor defeat, but as becoming transparent to something greater than ourselves.

It invites us to ask: Can I become transparent enough for what is true to move through me?

Leo's element was fire. We discovered the Sun within.

Pisces is water. Perhaps water is asking the fire to surrender even the form in which it knows itself, trusting that what is essential cannot be lost.

Not assertion, nor projection. Transmission.

During a partial lunar eclipse, Earth blocks the direct light from the Sun from reaching the Moon, and yet, not all light disappears.

Some sunlight passes through Earth's atmosphere, where it is filtered and refracted before reaching the Moon.

The light passes through -changed by relationship. Received. Reflected. Given again- possessed by no part of its passage.

Perhaps service begins when we stop asking: What is mine to shine? and begin asking: What is asking to shine through me?

Surrender does not mean obedience to another person's authority, nor requires making ourselves smaller. It asks us to become sufficiently transparent that we no longer need to appropriate what passes through us.

Perhaps surrender is not making ourselves less, it is making ourselves available.

The light discovered in Leo does not fulfil itself by being admired. It fulfils itself by becoming Love, and Love fulfils itself through service.

Perhaps the harvest of humble radiance may be: availability.

Present. Listening. Ready to receive. Ready to give. Without needing to determine beforehand what the gift should become.

The Sun was never absent. Now we discover what the light was for. Not merely to illuminate ourselves, to pass through us.

Remember

The light is not ours to possess, nor the truth ours to own.

We are asked only to become transparent enough for both to pass through.

Practice

Stand or sit quietly.

Open both hands, palms upward.

Take twelve slow and deep breaths.

With each inhalation: What am I still holding?

With each exhalation: Can I let it pass through?

Then remain.

Do not ask what you should do.

Ask: What wishes to move through me?

And listen.

Journaling

  • Where am I still trying to possess what was given to me to share?
  • What am I afraid I will lose if I surrender control?
  • Where am I confusing surrender with weakness?
  • What might become possible if I made myself completely available to Love?

Blessing

May I become transparent enough for Love to pass through me.

May I not confuse surrender with disappearing, nor service with becoming small.

May I have the courage to release what I am holding, and the humility not to decide what comes next.

May I remember that the light is not mine to possess, only mine to allow through.

May my hands become its Hands; my words become its Words; my life become its Service.

May this Full Moon harvest the humble radiance we planted beneath the Invisible Sun, and return it to the world as Love.

Yo lo Creo/I believe, and so it is
